Metal Industries Company Limited is a multi-functional commercial and training institution with training facilities strategically located throughout Trinidad and Tobago (T&T). Its commercial operations are conducted under the aegis of the Industry Services Division which serves as a hub for highly skilled manufacturing engineers, precision machinists, welding technicians, craftsmen and industrial maintenance personnel, utilizing the “Training Factory Concept”.
The company’s training function is administered by the Training Division. At present, the company operates twelve (12) Training/Technology Centres in T&T. These centres are located at Macoya (3), Laventille, Moruga, Borde St. Port-of-Spain, Mount St. Benedict (St. Bede), Sangre Grande, Ste. Madeleine, Point-a-Pierre, Point Fortin and Signal Hill in Tobago. The Macoya and Point-a-Pierre centres are currently being upgraded. Those at Ste. Madeleine and La Romaine have been integrated into the new technology centre at Pleasantville which has been commissioned. Four (4) more centres are to be established at Diego Martin, O’Meara, Chaguanas, and Tobago, bringing the number of training/technology centres in T&T to sixteen (16) in furtherance of MIC’s Vision.
MIC is therefore a major skills training provider and a regional centre for the manufacture of press tools, moulds and high-quality precision parts. Its staff is highly competent, having received training locally, regionally and internationally from countries such as Germany, England, India, Japan, Sweden, Singapore, Malaysia, Ireland, USA and Canada. MIC has become world class in the delivery of its major products. Over the years the company has earned a reputation for excellence.
